Romain Weintzem

BIOGRAPHY

Romain Weintzem (1987) lives in Fontevraud-L’Abbeye. He  uses metal, wood, plastre,.. as materials to form his ideas. The confrontation with the technical qualities  of the material is for him the driver, as a conscious decision to work “by hand” in an era op computer assisted productions. The themes in his work refer to concepts like potential threats and protection but also to the pompous atmosphere related to historical events. He borrows elements from the art of war (like bombshells or knuckle dusters) and brings them in his designs to fictive dimensions.
