BIOGRAFIE
ALEXI WILLIAMS WYNN (1972 GB) is een Brits beeldhouwster die in haar werk de aard van haar eigen lichamelijkheid onderzoekt door de verborgen innerlijkheid van het lichaam te onderzoeken. Ze werkt direct met de kadavers van dieren en past verschillende giettechnieken toe, waaronder corrosiegieten, een methode om vorm te geven aan de vormloze ruimtes in het lichaam, een omkering van een leven dat vereeuwigd is in de dood. De resultaten van deze processen bieden sculpturale mogelijkheden die getransformeerd worden in een poëtische beeldtaal. De complexe relaties tussen leven en dood, waarde en waardeloosheid en de dialectiek die inherent is aan schoonheid zijn enkele van haar onderzoekslijnen. Ze haalt haar inspiratie uit de kunstgeschiedenis, mythologie, literatuur, maar ook uit de dagelijkse realiteit.
